I don't really know.
I've illustrated three books now. I'm still not completely clear on the disclosure system in the illustration world. I was raised in the Animation world where you're contractually obliged to shut up until the thing is released so I'm not going to say any more about the books just yet. ...except for the one I mentioned in the previous journal, but that's been delayed because it's part of a big batch of new books they're releasing and I suppose there's some kind of delay with some of the other books (nobody tells me nuthin').
Anyway, after finishing the heaviest and most stressful one, I was feeling pretty crap about my abilities and suitabilities to this job so I set to work on some new ideas. Some of which I posted here. I've been told that one of the pictures (the monster one) didn't show up in the deviantwatch inbox so maybe you've missed it and you might like to see it:
The agency that I'm with www.thebrightagency.com/artist… are going to the Frankfurt Book Fair and they're bringing some of my nonsense with them so, hopefully somebody'll take an interest. I've got one sort of ongoing thing with a certain publisher to write and illustrate my own book so that's exciting but slow-moving at the minute.

Final Submission
That last batch of pictures I've just uploaded are the last I'll be submitting to DeviantART.
I'm not going to deactivate my account but I won't be uploading any more images here, to a website that's played an important part in my life.
I first heard about dA from elbooga (https://www.deviantart.com/elbooga) when we were in first year in college. It was the first time I'd seen art from so many amateurs in one place. I don't mean amateur in any kind of pejorative sense, but just a place for people who enjoy making pictures, some of whom maybe have aspirations of becoming professional some day, to upload art and submit it to the criticism of strangers.

I've been told they could've been a bit slower but I found anything longer than about a minute to be too boring :D
There was a technical error with the bot painting but not much was lost.
I'll do this a few more times if people like it.

were a daily deviation yesterday and, owing to what I'm going to refer to as "overwhelming public demand", the image is available as a print. So is the third batch. I chose not to make the second batch a print but I might do that later.
I just want to say one thing and I'm aware that it will probably sound really defensive, but I promise it's not the case...

My wife is in the freelance illustration biz as well, from what I know from her is that one is allowed to show work in a portfolio after the book is published. But there are some exclusions to that that I'm not 100% familiar on.
